National Adult Literacy Database

The National Adult Literacy Database Inc. (NALD) is a federally
incorporated, non-profit service organization which fills the
crucial need for a single-source, comprehensive, up-to-date
and easily accessible database of adult literacy programs,
resources, services and activities across Canada. It also links
with other services and databases in North America and overseas.

Federal Government Aging Resources

FIRSTGOV for Seniors

FirstGov for Seniors is one of several projects created at the direction of the National Partnership for Reinventing Government (NPRG). The Social Security Administration (SSA) agreed to create, host and maintain FirstGov for Seniors as a service especially geared toward senior citizens. The FirstGov for Seniors goal is to empower citizens to obtain valuable health and security information and services at one location via the Internet.

National Institute on Aging

The National Institute on Aging (NIA), one of the 25 institutes and centers of the National Institutes of Health, leads a broad scientific effort to understand the nature of aging and to extend the healthy, active years of life. They provide aging research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs relevant to aging and older people.

Area 10 Agency on Aging

Area 10 Agency on Aging is a private, not-for-profit corporation serving persons in Monroe and Owen Counties. They target their services to over 17,500 citizens 60 years of age and older in the area.

Center for Aging Persons with Developmental Disabilities

The Center for Aging Persons with Developmental Disabilities (CAPDD) is one of seven centers supported by the Institute for the Study of Developmental Disabilities (ISDD) at Indiana University, Bloomington. The ISDD is dedicated to the promotion and maintenance of a seamless system of inclusionary services for all individuals with disabilities and families across the life span. The ISDD is the University Affiliated Program of Indiana.
