Indiana at the Crossroads of American Anthropology and History

Saturday, September 16, 2017,

See description for locations.

Please join us for Indiana at the Crossroads of American Anthropology and History, a two-day symposium to celebrate the influential career of Professor DeMallie, reflect on the history of American Indian studies and American Anthropology at IU, and highlight directions for the future. Invited speakers will celebrate our strengths at the forefront of research, engagement, and scholarship. The symposium will typify the role DeMallie played during his career: as mediator of different voices, interests, and disciplines. The event will feature lectures from over a dozen prominent national and international scholars; reflections from faculty and former students; and informal discussions regarding the state of the field more broadly.

All events are free. We ask that you register: https://www.indiana.edu/~forms/coas_forms/machform/view.php?id=217806.
