John Paul Christy: Director of Public Programming, ACLS

Workshop Discussion on Humanities Funding for Faculty and Graduate Students

Monday, February 25, 2019,

TBA

The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) has been in the forefront of efforts to reorient research in the humanities towards engagement with the public. And John Paul Christy, Director of Public Programs at ACLS, has spearheaded these efforts. Christy oversees the ACLS/Mellon Public Fellows Program for Recent PhDs, an initiative that matches young humanities scholars with non-academic host organizations that can make good use of the skills and expertise developed during doctoral education.

Christy will meet with faculty and graduate students in an open workshop-style setting to discuss the range of funding opportunities offered by ACLS, the Public Fellows Program, and other developments in public humanities that he has seen in six years at ACLS.
