Noon Talk: The Quarried Landscape

Nelson R. Shaffer, section head of the Indiana Geological Survey, and Nan Brewer, the museum’s Lucienne M. Glaubinger Curator of Works on Paper, will discuss the development of the stone industry during the nineteenth century, how to tell a quarry from a natural rock formation, and different perspectives on the post-industrial landscape by artists of the period.
