Symposium on The Bondwoman’s Narrative

This symposium explores the first novel written by an African American woman in light of new research verifying its author, Hannah Bond. Participants in the symposium will discuss the significance of the manuscript since its initial publication by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. in 2002. The discussion will feature William Andrews, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Gregg Hecimovich, Robert S. Levine, Hollis Robbins, and Brenda E. Stevenson.
