Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Academic Publishing… But Were Afraid to Ask
A Workshop on Academic Publishing for Graduate Students
Thursday, February 21, 2013, 1:00pm
Walnut Room, Indiana Memorial Union*
Courtney Berger from Duke University Press and Janet Rabinowitch and Raina Polivka from Indiana University Press will lead an open conversation with graduate students on the intricacies of academic publishing. In particular, they will address: 1) how do you catch the attention of an editor, 2) what does an editor look for when s/he reads a proposal or cv, 3) when is the right time to start talking to a press about your project, and 4) what makes for a good book proposal.
* Please note that the venue for this event has changed. This workshop will now be held in the Walnut Room of the Indiana Memorial Union.
UPDATE: THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL. Due to a large number of responses, we no longer have any seats available. The workshop was capped at 40 people, and we reached this limit very quickly.
