I write at the end of a difficult week. I know there have been gatherings and expressions of solidarity—in town, and on campus—and a general re-affirmation of the values that guide our work as educators, scholars, and citizens.
It may be the case that CAHI can be useful in this hour by serving as a meeting place to discuss ideas for collective reflection on our moment—dialogues, readings, and so on.
I invite anyone interested in hearing what your colleagues may suggest along these lines to an Open Discussion at the CAHI house (1211 E. Atwater Avenue) on Wednesday, November 16 at 1:30pm.
I have no agenda of my own, but have heard from some of you about ideas that are percolating. CAHI will do all it can to help facilitate conversation and understanding.
