Responsibilities

• Member, Marketing Team
• Coordinator, Internship Courses
• Create and prepare advertisements and other media
• Assist students with IUCareers.com accounts
• Supervise peer advisors (student workers)

After a year of college and having no idea what career path to take, Karen decided to take a break from school. That short break ended up becoming twenty-plus years in the newspaper industry as a retail advertising account executive and, for the last few years, as a graphic designer. Karen especially loved working on a daily basis with people and having the opportunity to help businesses grow through their marketing. Joining the Career Development Center has given her the same opportunity to meet people daily and maybe even have a small part of making their college experience rewarding. Working at the Center, Karen realized what she missed by dropping out of college and has started taking IU classes online and is even thinking about getting that degree.
