Crystal is originally from Madison, Indiana, a small historic town located in southeastern Indiana. After graduating from Georgetown College, she took a position in the business department of a trucking company. Although this was a great experience, she felt dissatisfied and ready for a positive educational experience studying higher education. Crystal’s experience working in the Student Affairs Department, as a student, at Georgetown College, sparked her interest and passion for working in the field. This interest resulted in her pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Kentucky. As a master’s student she was a Graduate Assistant for the Alcohol and Health Education Office as well as an Intern for the Office of Student Diversity Engagement. Her responsibilities as a Graduate Assistant included: advising a student group called the CAUSE (College Alcohol Use Student Educators); planning campus- wide alcohol awareness events; and presenting on alcohol- related topics. As an intern she helped to research, coordinate, and plan a project entitled the Inter-Greek Relations Project. Crystal’s worst job was a summer at the Dairy Queen in her hometown. Even though it was a less than ideal job, she can still make a mean DQ curl!
