The Council for Advancing Student Leadership (CASL) is a student
organization that works to advance, promote, facilitate, and
recognize student leadership on the Bloomington campus. CASL is made
up of 16 committees each providing a service specific to enhancing student
leadership on campus. Each committee is led by a Director and
supplemented by 2-5 committee members. The executive committee,
made up of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer,
oversees the directors and makes all administrative and strategic
decisions.
Background:
CASL was formed in 1998 by a
group of students with a vision for strengthening student leaders on
campus.
Mission:
To enhance
student leadership through campus extracurricular activities and
student organizations.
Goals:

Work with campus student organizations to facilitate and encourage
student leadership.

Provide formal and informal educational experience to student
leaders.

Recognize outstanding student leaders and organizational advisors.

Involve alumni in the student leadership development effort.

Communicate meaningful and valuable leadership information.
