The Council for Advancing Student Leadership (CASL) is a student organization that works to advance, promote, facilitate, and recognize student leadership on the Bloomington campus.  CASL is made up of 16 committees each providing a service specific to enhancing student leadership on campus. Each committee is led by a Director and supplemented by 2-5 committee members. The executive committee, made up of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, oversees the directors and makes all administrative and strategic decisions.
Background:

CASL was formed in 1998 by a group of students with a vision for strengthening student leaders on campus.

Mission:

To enhance student leadership through campus extracurricular activities and student organizations.

Goals:

- Work with campus student organizations to facilitate and    encourage student leadership.
- Provide formal and informal educational experience to student leaders.
- Recognize outstanding student leaders and organizational advisors.
- Involve alumni in the student leadership development effort.
- Communicate meaningful and valuable leadership information.
