Course Objectives
The first-year Uzbek I course introduces students to the basics of the literary language of Uzbekistan. During the course the students develop their skills in listening, reading and writing while learning about literary Uzbek and the Uzbek culture.
During the course students learn grammar and vocabulary. Conversation and reading practice, journals and newspapers are used to illustrate modern life in Uzbekistan. Students use the Internet, e-mail to watch and listen to authentic Uzbek language materials.
