Overview of Manchu historiography. Documents, decrees (e.g., granting ranks), annals, chronicles (e.g., the Veritable Records, Yargiyan-i qooli), biographies or genealogies (e.g., The Clear Registers, Iletu ulabun), itineraries (e.g., of Tulishen's Travels), imperial inscriptions of the 17th and 18th centuries, inscriptions on cannons, narratives (e.g., Song Yun's Talks about Russo-Manchu trade relations). Reading and analyzing materials in Standard (Classical) and in Pre-Classical Manchu script.
