This course introduces students to major issues in Hungarian Studies, from the migration to the present. After a survey of the geography of the country, we will explore the definition of Hungarian identity, the problems arising around this definition over the centuries. Also, this course is intended as a survey of some of the nuts-and-bolts of research, citation styles, and the basic writing forms of academic life – abstracts, proposals, reviews, and research papers.
