Recapitulation of the rudiments of Manchu grammar (phonetics as reflected in Manchu script, in Chinese and Korean transcription, Manchu transcription of Chinese and Mongolian; nominal and verbal morphology; syntax). Reading and analysis of original Manchu documents from the Tanggô Meyen, G. Roth Li’s Manchu, Reading Selection B, etc. and excerpts of Manchu translations of Chinese (Po Song-ling’s short stories, etc.) and Mongolian historical writings (Monggo han sai da sekiyen, etc.) .
