Improper handling of hazardous chemicals can have detrimental effects on humans, wildlife, and the environment. These chemicals are often used in industry as solvents or result as by-product in reaction, or may be accidentally (or deliberately) released into the environment in the form of oil spills, groundwater contamination, etc.

This pathfinder covers various aspects of chemical hazards, including toxicology and laboratory safety. All sources can be found or accessed in the Indiana University Bloomington libraries.
