Claudia Chandler asked about an electronic source of IPC codes. STN offers
within the USPATFULL file an online thesaurus for the 6th edition of the
WIPO IPC codes. If you EXPAND on an IPC code and use one of several
thesaurus relationship codes that are available, the system will provide
definitions at several levels. The example below illustrates how to
display the complete title (+TI) for the code C07D203-02. No specific
charge other than connect time. Note that a thesaurus is also offered for
the US classification codes. For more information on how to use this
thesaurus to obtain subject definitions or to search with thesaurus
relationship codes, please contact the Help Desk at CAS (help@cas.org).
