In regards to the Dow patent, a search of WPINDEX on STN reveals a patent
from July not April. Is this the one you want? This search was possible
because STN allows left hand truncation in the basic index of WPI.

There was an article in CHEMICAL WEEK Dec. 22/29 1993 issue, page 10
DOW PLASTICS has received a US composition of matter patent on the structure
of polymers based on Insite metallocene technology. It says that the World
Patent Office published such a patent for DOW in April.

Now I tried locating this patent using US Patents FULLTEXT and
Derwent without much success. Can any one out there give me pointers to this
patent - patent number etc.

Thanks

      SECONDARY: C08F-297-08
ABSTRACT:
     WO 9313143 A UPAB: 931213
Prodn. involves (a) prepg. homogeneous ethylene (co)polymers (IIIA,
IIIB) with melt index 0.05-50 g/10, using differing activated
constrained geometry catalyst compsns. (IVA, IVB); and (b) combining
     50-96 (wt.)% (IIIA) with 5-50% (IIB).
Pref. prodn. of ethylene copolymer (1-2), comprises
polymerising (IIIA) contg. 5-30% (II) and (IIIB) 2-10% (II).
Fabricated articles, esp. films, mouldings and fibres are pref.
     made from (I-2).
Pref. (II) is 2-18C alpha-olefins, pref. ethylene, 1-propene,
     isobutylene, 1-butene, 1-hexene, 4-methyl-1-pentene, and/or esp.
1-octene. (IVA) comprises a Ti complex and aluminoxane cocatalyst
(V); and (IVB) of a Zr complex, pref. a ***zirconocene***
complex, and (V); and (IVA) and/or (IVB) comprise Ti, V, Hf and/or
     Zr complex(es). Pref. (IIIA) has m.pt. = 0-110 deg.C and (IIIB)
m.pt. = 115-130 deg.C and these are mixed to give (I-2) with Tc at
least 5 deg.C higher than that of (III) produced using the more
reactive (IV). (Tc = at least 110 deg.. Pref. (IIIA) and (IIIB) are
prepd. simultaneously in the same reactor, pref. by injecting a
mixt. of (IVA) and (IVB); or (IIIA) and (IIIB) are prepd. separately
in differing reactors, which may be operated in series or parallel.
USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) has a higher crystallisation onset temp. (Tc)
c.f. (IIIA) or (IIIB); and films have improved cling and low hexane
extractables. The optical properties (clarity, haze) and modulus of
thermo formed prods. are also improved
