What We Do The Children’s Door is a service for divorced, separated, and never married parents. It offers an opportunity to exchange children for scheduled parenting time under neutral supervision in a safe, child-friendly environment. This service is offered free of charge. We strive to offer an accessible option for parents who need monitored exchanges for the well-being of their children and themselves. Exchanges are documented to show that parties are on time and exchange their children without conflict. Records are provided to the courts and caseworkers upon request. Hours
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays: 6-7 pm Most major holidays in accordance with the Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines. Exchanges outside normal hours may be accommodated upon request. Additional exchange services, locations, days, and times will be added as the program expands and as resources become available. Security Professional security personnel are on site during exchange hours. Arrival and departure times are staggered so that no contact occurs outside of the facility. Arrangements are in place for cases that involve restraining or no contact orders. Referrals and Intake The courts, attorneys, social service providers, and other professionals may make referrals. Self-referrals are also welcome. Court referrals are given priority. Before monitored exchanges can begin, parents and other persons authorized to pick up or drop off a child must schedule an intake meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to review and agree to abide by the guidelines for participation. |
