Archiving Oncourse Course Sites
While course sites in Oncourse are kept accessible on the servers for eight semesters, you might find you have a course that, based on the semester it was originally taught, is about to exceed this eight-semester time span (note: summer sessions I and II are counted as one semester).
By creating a project site, you can import into that site the structure of the course you wish to save. Keep in mind, however, that this import process will copy ** only ** the framework of your course—in other words, it will copy the forums and topics without the postings, the assignments without the student submissions, and the grade book items without the grades. It will ** not ** copy any student information, but it will copy content such as syllabus, resources, and wiki pages. You can find instructions for completing this process here: http://kb.iu.edu/data/aydv.html.
