Tinker Field Research Grants : Funding Opportunities
Thanks to the generous support of the Tinker Foundation and the IU College of Arts and Sciences, CLACS will once again offer Tinker Field Research Grants for Summer 2009, to support pre-dissertation research in Latin America and the Iberian Penninsula.
Eligible candidates: IU graduate students in their early graduate careers (this is NOT a dissertation grant) who are working in a Latin American country (specifically a Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking one) or in Spain or Portugal. The student must be working within a social science framework and the project should have possible policy implications (ex: archeology, cultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology, development, education, economy, trade, environmental studies, history, human rights, international relations, policy analysis, political science, public administration, public health and sociology).
Awards: Awards ranging from $500 to $1500 will be available to cover the costs of airfare and other travel-related expenses for field research projects of approximately 6 weeks in duration.
