CLACS coordinates a dynamic outreach program providing information on Latin America and the Caribbean to local, regional, and national constituencies.
Audiovisual Resources In collaboration with Media Services and Instructional Support Services, CLACS lends videos on Latin America and the Caribbean to K-12 school teachers in Indiana for short-term use at no cost. For further information contact CLACS (812) 855-9097 or clacs@indiana.edu.
Day of the Dead Celebration CLACS and the Mathers Museum collaborate with high school teachers and students to increase awareness of and celebrate the Mexican holiday, Day of the Dead. CLACS hosts workshops on the Mexican festival and works with students and teachers to create Day of the Dead Altars which are exhibited at the Mathers Museum. Public Programs CLACS annually sponsors more than 20 lectures on campus. The lectures serve as a forum for faculty, visiting scholars, students and others to discuss current research in Latin America and the Caribbean. CLACS also occasionally coordinates conferences and symposia, exhibits, and other events. See our Events Calendar.
Global Speakers Service In association with Global Speakers Services, CLACS provides faculty members, graduate students, or international students to lecture free of charge on Latin American and Caribbean topics to audiences in and around Bloomington.
Interactive Video Conferences CLACS assists International Studies for Indiana Schools (ISIS) in developing two-way interactive video classes and special programs on Latin America and the Caribbean for K-12 audiences.
