IU Campus Resources
CLACS collaborates with the Center for the Study of Global Change. By working with the "Global Center," CLACS assists the University with efforts to infuse a global perspective into undergraduate and graduate education. In addition to Outreach, the teaching and research involved in these efforts encompassed several world regions and cuts across academic disciplines. Such relationships increase opportunities for students to pursue their research interests, as does the presence at IU Bloomington of the Anthropological Center for Training and Research on Global and Environmental Change (ACT), which focuses on the study of human dimensions of global environmental change, particularly in the Amazon.
Also on the Bloomington campus is the Latino Cultural Center, La Casa. Its purpose is to achieve through educational and social programs, a greater historical, political, and cultural awareness of Latina/os. As an advocacy office, La Casa works closely with other units on campus to assist in the recruitment and retention of Latina/o students. Services and events coordinated by La Casa also create an environment where anyone in the Latino community can go and feel a sense of community and belonging.
