Indiana University Equipment Specifications

13.1 Video Switcher (RGB)

Description

This is a video routing device that allows any inputs to be switched to any one or all the outputs of the unit.

Features:

  • RGBHV- The video switcher shall provide separate horizontal and vertical sync to ensure stable output image.

  • Minimum 260 MHz (-3dB) full load video bandwidth- This ensures minimum signal degradation and it is recommended for video input up to SXGA(1280 x 1028) resolution.

  • No crosstalk – the inputs and outputs shall be buffered to prevent any crosstalk.

  • Manual front panel controller – To allow manual operation of the unit.

  • RS-232/422 control - To allow computer remote control of the unit.

  • Audio gain/attenuation adjustment – The ability to adjust individual audio input levels of the connected devices.

  • Audio follow video – To allow switching of video and corresponding audio simultaneously. This switcher should also allow any audio signal to be selected with any video signal simultaneously to one or all outputs in any combination via front panel or serial controller.

  • Audio breakaway – To allow breakaway any audio from its corresponding video signal via front panel or serial controller.

  • Seamless transition – Smooth and seamless transition when switching between the inputs

  • Simple instruction codes for control software – To allow easy integration of the switcher into the computer controlled environments

  • Flexible inputs and outputs configuration – Such as 4 x 4, 8 x 4, 8 x 8, 12 x 4, 12 x 8, 12 x 12, 16 x 4, 16 x 8, 16 x 12, 16 x 16.
