Literary Arts at Collins seeks to provide resources and opportunities to writers of prose, poetry, articles, journals, and anything and everything else! The Writers' Society meets frequently to workshop students' stories and poems, prepare for NaNoWriMo, and work on writing exercises together. There are also frequent open mic nights and slam poetry events to give all students a chance to share their new work in a friendly and safe space. If you have any suggestions for the upcoming year or would like to get involved, please contact the Literary Arts Coordinator.

Lucy Battersby: Literary Arts Coordinator

Hi! I'm a sophomore studying History and Creative Writing. This is my second year at Collins, and I currently serve as the Vice President of Internal Affairs in addition to my role on the Arts Council. My favorite authors are Stephen King and Neil Gaiman and my favorite hobby is placing bets on when George R.R. Martin will finally get the next Game of Thrones book out- if you have any guesses, please let me know. Also, please get in touch if you would like to talk about prose, poetry, or spoken word in Collins- or anything else! I can be reached at
