The Student Advisory Board of Comparative Literature is a student organization at Indiana University, which consists of several M.A. and Ph.D. students in the department. The representatives are elected during the spring semester and receive training from the prior officers. Currently, the SAB has two chairpersons who organize the group's efforts. These two positions are the Chairperson for Student Affairs and the Chairperson for Faculty Affairs. In addition to these roles, our organization has two Academic Coordinator positions and two Social Coordinator positions. The officers foster interaction in our community by organizing events and communicating with the campus. Likewise, the SAB also has a Treasurer position, which helps the group to acquire university funding and keep a ledger of our finances.
The SAB similarly arranges elections for offices that concern other facets of student life. For example, the SAB coordinates the election of the department's representative to the Graduate and Professional Student Organization, who is a voting member of the Board. Some students are also elected to serve on specialized departmental committees, such as the Admissions Committee, the A.I. Affairs Committee, the Graduate Affairs Committee and the Translation Committee. The officer positions and committee representatives are further explained in our constitution, and we have attached that document here. In the area below, we have outlined the current officers for the 06-07 year as another means of contact. If students wish to be involved with the SAB, we encourage them to e-mail our account.
