James Grant
The Distinguished Alumni Award was presented to James Grant, BA '70 in Economics. Mr. Grant is the founder and editor of Grant's Interest Rate Observer. Mr. Grant's remarks were eloquent and heartfelt as he told of his arrival on campus following a tour in the Navy. He spoke of the beauty of IU and of the professors who changed the direction of his life. One of these professors, Professor Emeritus of History Robert Ferrell, was able to join us for the evening. Mr. Grant's wife and two of his children returned to campus to see him receive this award.
