Intensive Writing Essay Prize

These awards have been established to recognize the work and excellence of students’ writing for IU Bloomington courses that fulfill the College's Intensive Writing requirement. They also recognize the teaching efforts made by faculty to encourage and develop good student writing. Faculty members whose students receive Intensive Writing Essay Prizes will be recognized along with their students. Six Intensive Writing Essay Prizes are awarded each academic year, two in each of the following distribution areas: Arts and Humanities, Social and Historical Studies, Natural and Mathematical Sciences. |

Application Process: |
Student essays nominated by faculty members are collected each semester. Complete application according to the guidelines and submit to Laura Plummer, Director, Campus Writing Program, Franklin Hall 008 by the deadline. |

Award: |
Two prizes of $150 will be awarded in each category (Arts and Humanities, Social and Historical Studies, Natural and Mathematical Sciences). One prize will be for essays under ten pages long and one prize will be for essays over ten pages in length. |
