Sally Kissinger Wilt Merit Scholarship

Description:

This award competition is open to current freshmen who were directly admitted to the IU College of Arts and Sciences. The winner or winners will receive an award to be applied to cost of attendance for the sophomore year at Indiana University-Bloomington. The award is renewable annually for up to three years while the student is progressing normally toward a baccalaureate degree at Indiana University Bloomington or in an approved overseas study program.

Eligibility:

  • Current full-time freshman admitted through the College Direct Admit Program
  • Full-time enrollment in the College of Arts and Sciences for each year of the award
  • High academic merit
  • Preference given to students from single-parent families
  • Preference given to applicants with financial need
  • Must have a current FAFSA on file to verify financial need
  • High academic merit, including a minimum GPA of 3.750

Application Process:

Complete Wilt Scholarship application form and submit it with the materials listed below.
Completed application must be delivered to the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Office,
Kirkwood Hall 012 (Hours: 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.; 1:00-4:00 p.m. weekdays).

Materials:

  • Résumé
  • Two completed recommendation forms; at least one from an IU faculty member
  • Personal statement of 400 to 500 words
  • Second statement of up to 250 words if desired (See application form.)

Award:

The winner or winners will receive a $500 award to be applied to the costs of attendance for the sophomore year at Indiana University-Bloomington. The award is renewable annually for up to three years.

Note: Competition for this scholarship does not open every year. Funding is contingent upon scholarship renewals of previous recipients.
