Scholarships and Awards - for in-state prospective Direct Admit Freshmen

Incoming freshmen who are selected for direct admission into the IU College of Arts and Sciences and who are residents of Indiana are automatically considered for the Indiana Scholars Award; there is no separate application process. Recipients are notified of their award by the College’s Direct Admit Program office.

The Indiana Scholars Award, which can be combined with many other IU awards, consists of $1,000 per academic year applied towards the costs of attendance at Indiana University in Bloomington. The award is applied on a $500-per-semester basis to each recipient’s bursar account, and is renewable for a total of 8 semesters. Renewal criteria include

  • Full-time status at Indiana University in Bloomington or on an IU-affiliated study abroad program
  • A minimum IU grade point average of 3.000

Note: Admitted freshmen who intend to major in the College of Arts and Sciences and who complete and submit the Selective Scholarship Application by Feb. 21, 2007, do not need to apply separately to the College’s Direct Admit Program.

— Discipline-specific award competitions open to all prospective Direct Admit Freshmen
