A Great Way to honor the Contributions of Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. . . .

AND to increase your knowledge and understanding of your place in the movement.

As a part of the CommUNITY Education Program's commitment to diversity education we have sponsored a King Holiday trip to the Civil Rights Museum to Memphis the past three years.

This year we have changed our plans to travel to Montgomery to give students the opportunity to visit the Rosa Parks Museum, Civil Rights Memorial Museum, Southern Poverty Law Center and the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church. Please note that as a way of celebrating the faith that inspired King, Parks, and so many  other Civil Rights leaders, we will be attending a church service on Sunday morning at the Dexter Ave. King Memorial Baptist Church.

Our bus leaves Friday, January 13, 2:00 PM and will return in the very late hours of the night on Sunday, January 15. This allows you the opportunity to participate in campus King Day events on Monday.

Thanks to generations donations by several campus offices for only $20 you get lodging for two days (quad occupancy), transportation, museum admissions, and educational materials. You will be responsible for food costs and any other expenses. We can accept cash or checks made out to the CommUNITY Education Program. This is a non-refundable registration fee.

Registration is a two step process. First you must follow the link below to complete a registration form on-line. Second you must take your $20 payment to 801 N. Jordan, Suite 221 to confirm your spot on the bus (see either Megan Divine or Barry Magee). Just completing step one will not hold your spot on the bus.
