Dylan Pittman


Dylan Pittman, class of 2011, is currently studying Political Science, Economics, and Spanish. He has a strong interest in U.S. Constitutional law and plans to pursue a career in law following graduation.

A Wells Scholar, Hoosier Scholar, and student in the Hutton Honors College, Dylan spent portions of his freshmen year shaping policies at Wright Quadrangle as a vice governor for Ferguson house. He volunteered as a student usher at the auditorium and waged a mediocre season as a co-founder of the Herman B Ballers intramural basketball team.

Originally from Evansville, Indiana, Dylan graduated with honors as the valedictorian from North High School. Active in debate competitions, he won the Indiana High School Forensic Associations's Hawker Award for outstanding mental attitude and twice competed at the national debate tournament in public forum debate after placing fifth at the state speech tournament. He served as president and vice president of his school's debate team and president of its speech team. He was a member of his school's We the People team, which won the district competititon testing knowledge of the U.S.Constitution with special emphasis on the First Amendment. In addition, Dylan competed in two Scripps Howard National Spelling Bees, Spell Bowl, Academic Super Bowl, and was a member of National Honor Society, Democrats Club, Spanish Club, marching band, and student mentors. He was a member of Junior Civitan, a community service organization for young people and has volunteered with Impact Ministries, Parkview Convalescent Center, the Tri-State Food Bank, Postal Service Annual Food Drive, and Operation City Beautiful.

In his spare time, Dylan enjoys playing pool, basketball, and his drum set.
