spring shadow program 2016

Spring Shadow Program

On behalf of Indiana University, Community and School Partnerships is proud to host Spring Shadow, a three-day academic, residential program that pairs current ninth, tenth and eleventh graders with college students for one-on-one mentoring. By shadowing a college student mentor, participants gain first-hand experience of university-level academic expectations, as well as an introduction to campus life. The program promotes the college experience and supports under-served and underrepresented high school students. The program is held on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University.

Program Information

Program Dates for Session 1: Sunday, April 2, to Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

Program Dates for Session 2: Sunday, April 9, to Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

Spring Shadow participants have the opportunity to attend classes with a current IU student. During the program, student participants will learn about campus resources and financial aid, take part in various activities with their mentors, and stay on-campus.

There is no cost to students or families to participate in Spring Shadow. Housing and meals will be provided. Students and families are responsible for providing transportation to and from the Bloomington campus.

Spring Shadow is open to current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. Successful applicants typically have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Current 12th grade students who have already been accepted to Indiana University and are interested in an on-campus experience, are encouraged to contact the Office of Admissions regarding attending a Red Carpet Day event.

All applicants will be contacted by the end of February with selection decisions.

Thank you for your interest. For more information, please contact Community and School Partnerships at (812) 856-5935 or e-mail us at
