Second Meeting on

CPT and Lorentz Symmetry

A meeting on CPT and Lorentz symmetry will be held in the Physics Department, Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, U.S.A. on August 15-18, 2001. The meeting will focus on experimental tests of these fundamental symmetries and on theoretical issues, including scenarios for possible violations.

Subjects to be covered include:

  • experimental constraints on CPT and Lorentz symmetry from
    • oscillations and decays of K, B, D mesons and other particles
    • comparisons of particle and antiparticle properties
    • spectroscopy of hydrogen and antihydrogen
    • clock-comparison tests
    • tests with spin-polarized matter
    • properties of light
    • astrophysical tests
  • theoretical studies of
    • phenomenology at the level of the standard model
    • possible origins and mechanisms for violations
    • issues in field theory, gravity, and string theory

The meeting will feature both plenary and contributed talks covering the above topics.
