Our Mission
Our country is facing unprecedented challenges as we seek to balance energy security, environmental protection, and affordability.
The Center for Research in Energy and the Environment (CREE) brings together the best minds in science, economics and public policy to help decision makers in all sectors make sound energy choices.
Mission
The Center for Research in Energy and the Environment assembles top scholars from multiple disciplines to conduct innovative, timely and relevant research and policy analysis in the broad area of energy, focusing specifically on:
- Advancing new uses of fossil fuels and nuclear power;
- Developing alternative and renewable energy resources;
- Understanding local and regional carbon cycle dynamics;
- Investigating environmental and economic consequences of energy production, distribution and use.
CREE is an affiliate of the Center for Research in Environmental Science (CRES), a group of Indiana University, Bloomington centers organized in the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.
