About the Center
The Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society (CRRES), located in Bloomington, Indiana, is an interdisciplinary, academic site for social scientific and historical scholarship, as well as collaborative research and training on diversity and social inequality, especially race and ethnicity (primarily in the United States).
- to contribute to the IUB intellectual climate by offering a place where an interdisciplinary group of faculty (and lecturers), graduate students (and postdocs), undergraduate interns, and invited guest speakers can meet, interact, collaborate and advance interdisciplinary research on race and ethnicity;
- to create a space where faculty feel supported in their efforts to build a research program that incorporates the topic of race and ethnicity; and
- to offer training opportunities for graduate students (and undergraduate interns who connect with the Center) through workshops on special topics and/or connections to postdoctoral students who are conducting research in the area of race and ethnicity.
