American Research Institute in Turkey / National Endowment for the Humanities Advanced Fellowships for Research in Turkey, 2013-2014.
ARIT/NEH Advanced Fellowships cover all fields of the humanities, including prehistory, history, art, archaeology, literature, and linguistics as well as interdisciplinary aspects of cultural history for applicants who have completed their academic training. The fellowships may be held for terms ranging from four months to a full year.
Stipends range from $16,800 to $50,400.
ARIT Fellowships for Research in Turkey, 2013-2014, pending funding.
ARIT Fellowships are offered for research in ancient, medieval, or modern times, in any field of the humanities and social sciences. Post-doctoral and advanced doctoral fellowships may be held for various terms, from one to three months up to terms of a year. Stipends range from $4,000 to $16,000.
Applications for ARIT fellowships must be submitted to ARIT before November 1, 2012. The fellowship committee will notify applicants by late January, 2013.

ARIT – Princeton Summer Fellowships for Intensive Advanced Turkish Language at Bogazici University, Istanbul, summer 2013, pending funding.
The program supports intensive study of advanced Turkish language at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey, including air fare, tuition, and stipend.
The application deadline is February 1.

Critical Language Scholarship Institutes
in Turkish Language.
The program provides support for intensive study of Turkish language at all levels, including air fare, tuition, and stipend. Courses are held in several locations in Turkey. The US Department of Education has designated the Islamic Studies program as a Foreign Language and Area Studies Center. As a FLAS Center CSME offers FLAS fellowships to graduate and undergraduate students for students taking Arabic, Modern Hebrew, Kurdish, Persian and Turkish. FLAS fellowships support graduate study of modern foreign languages and related area and international studies in preparation for careers in teaching, research, government service, and international organizations.

Paul Fogleman, the campus representative for Fulbright Hays, will be holdling application preparation workshops on Tues. May 29 from 2-3pm and Fri. Jun. 1 from 2-3. The workshops will be identical, however, you are welcome to attend both. They will be held in the conference room of the "International Programs" building at 201 N. Indiana Ave. (Between 6th & 7th St., across from Dunn Meadow.)
The various components of the application will be discussed at the workshop and we will review a mock application. To make the most of the short amount of time before the June 14 deadline, students applying for the grant should concentrate their efforts on the narrative statement, requesting letters of reference and securing or updating a letter of affiliation in the host country.
