'Forging a Convention for Crimes Against Humanity' - A Lecture by Prof. Leila Sadat

To date, there is still no single body of international instruments that defines and outlaws crimes against humanity. Professor Leila Sadat will present and discuss  a draft prepared and proposed by a group of the world’s leading experts on the topic, in the hope that their draft will become the basis of a future international treaty.

Visiting Scholars


CSME would like to welcome two new visiting scholars to Indiana University and our Center!


Kishimzhan Eshenkulova is originally from Kyrgyzstan. She received her PhD from the University of Istanbul in 2008, where her thesis explored the "Introduction of Modern Science into Turkistan (1800-1917)."


Kishimzhan's current research project is “The history of science in Islamic civilizations, Islamic philosophy and general epistemology as understood through the role of Islamic education and institutions in contemporary Kyrgyzstan.”


Nermin Yazıcı is an Associate Professor of Contemporary Turkish Literature at Hacettepe

University, Ankara. She received her PhD from Ankara University in Turkish Language and Literature.


Yazıcı’s current research focus is onTurkish teaching methodology.
