Institute for Curriculum
and Campus Internationalization (ICCI)

May 19th - 22nd, 2013

Indiana University is proud to announce its Institute for Curriculum and Campus Internationalization (ICCI), which will take place May 19-22, 2013 in Bloomington, IN.

This unique institute facilitates the internationalization of your campus or unit, curricula, and/or individual course, to better prepare students to be effective scholars, practitioners, and citizens of the 21st century. It is open to all college and university faculty, staff, and administrators, so feel free to share with colleagues in and outside of your institution. Individuals and teams are welcome. Spaces fill up, so we encourage you to register soon.

If you are faculty, staff, or administrator from a public or private university, research, or liberal arts institute, community college, HBCU, TCCU, HSI and any other, please consider this program to tackle the terms of curriculum internationalization in a professional educational environment.

IU Students Represented at Model Arab League

The Center for the Study of the Middle East sponsored a group of 8 IUB students who competed for the first time at the Ohio Valley Model Arab League competition host by Miami University of Ohio. The team, consisting of two graduate students and six undergraduates, won Overall Outstanding Delegation, and each of the eight students also won individual recognition.

Syrian Scholar Finds Refuge at Indiana University

IU NEWS ROOM - With little more than a suitcase, Abdal-Razzaq Moaz arrived at Indiana University Bloomington on Feb. 1, following a dramatic escape from Syria. An expert on the history of Islamic art and architecture who has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University five times and a former deputy minister within the Syrian government, Moaz has a one-year appointment in IU's School of Global and International Studies and will teach a class here in the fall.

Stephen Katz

CSME staff interviewed Dr. Stephen Katz, an interview which served as the basis for this biographical article. Stephen Katz is Professor of Jewish Studies and Near Eastern Languages & Cultures. Dr. Katz's expertise put Hebrew Studies on the map at Indiana University, a great achievement for a university so far removed from the geographic regions typically associated with the field.
