CWA's first function is Organizing. The more of us there are, the more power each of us has. CWA Outreach/Membership Committee is currently (constantly) in the midst of a membership drive. Talk Union to each other, and to your coworkers! And record your experience here for the rest of us.

There's always an election coming up, President, Trustees of the University, or any one of countless local elections. When we put in an endorsement we want to represent our members, so sound off and let us know what you think of the people who want to represent you and the issues they are having to tackle.

The IDS reported that IU plans to proceed with the planned new buildings even tho the money to pay for them has dwindled due to the economy. Instead of waiting til the money is there, they are considering using money allotted for staff salary increases.

This group is made of delegates from unions in Bartholomew, Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe and Owen Counties. It meets monthly to share information and to offer support where needed. Our delegate currently is Su Cowling: scowling@indiana.edu

Let us know what you want. What are your hot button issues? What do you want us to push for? When should we be holding meetings, and what causes are most important to you as an employee? Let the board you elected know what you want them to be doing.
