Intensive Writing Roundtables
Workshops for Pedagogy Courses

The Writing Program can be called upon to organize workshops for faculty members or Associate Instructors in an entire department or school, or just for the instructors in a particular course.

Topics the CWP has addressed in previous workshops include:

Intensive Writing Roundtables

In partnership with the office of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education in the College of Arts and Sciences, the CWP hosts annual faculty roundtable discussions for faculty teaching Intensive Writing courses for the College.

At the most recent roundtable, featured faculty speakers included Cindy Duquette Smith (Telecommunications), George Malicinski (Biology), and Arlene Diaz (History), who discussed their implementation of revision assignments and peer review sessions.

Workshops for Pedagogy Courses

The CWP can also provide workshops or presentations for graduate level pedagogy courses in the departments and schools.

Possible topics include:

Staff members approach these topics in whatever manner lead faculty prefer--through interactive workshops, presentations, small group discussions, or one-on-one meetings. Sometimes, faculty fold these sessions into their syllabi and the CWP takes responsibility for a day's class time.
