About Us

IU Ballroom Dance Club is a student-run organization designed to help people learn and develop ballroom dance skills and to promote ballroom dance within our campus and community.

Although affiliated with Indiana University Recreational Sports, the club is open to all members of the community; all interested people are invited and encouraged to join us. No experience is necessary.

Summer Lessons

Beginner Lesson Series - Mondays 7:30 - 8:15 (School of Public Health Room 171, formerly HPER)

Open Practice - Mondays/Wednesdays 7:00 - 9:45 and Saturdays 12:00 - 4:00 (SPH 171)

Dress

A common question is what to wear to these lessons. Dress is casual unless you are more comfortable dancing in dance pants or a skirt for ladies. It helps to wear slick shoes that stay on your feet. Dress shoes or shoes with little grip work well for men. Ladies often wear low heels or anything with little grip, but remember comfort and functionality is what is important.
