About Dancesport: |

The IU Dancesport team is sponsored by the IUBDC. Dancesport represents the competitive side of ballroom dancing. The members of the team not only participate in club events but also spend countless hours practicing, fundraising, in lessons, and traveling to competitions. The Dancesport team meets for mandatory practice every Monday night (even some holidays) from 8:30-11:00 in HPER 171. There are also open floor opportunities on Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoons. In addition, team members also have the opportunity to travel to Indianapolis on a regular basis to receive instruction for the world class instructors at the Starlite Ballroom! |

To be a member of the IU Dancesport team you must first be a full time student at IU-Bloomington. The dues for the team are currently $50 per semester and incorporate the club dues (if you've already paid your club dues for the semester the additional fee for the team is only $40). This additional money helps to cover the cost of competing, which can be quite expensive. While the team & club do their best to offset the cost of competing, it is the responsibility of each individual dance member to cover the cost of their own compeitive activities.
