Course geared toward a thorough discusion of active miliary
involvement in African politics, dating from Gamal Nasser's early coup
d'etat in Egypt in 1955 to Africa's most recent coup in April, 1997 in
Sierra Leone.  Topics will be treated regionally with histo-political
precision: Easter, Northern, Southern and Western Africa.
