Course Description and Content
An examination of the contemporary retail environment as it
relates to basic marketing and merchandising principles, the
current organizational structures within a retail environment and
introductory profit computations and analysis is studied.
Required Texts and Readings
Fairchild-Mathematics for Retail Buying
Readings from Women's Wear Daily as well as other
supplemental materials that relate to course topics will be
assigned as deemed necessary by the instructor.
Outline Course Requirements
Course evaluation is based on tests, quizzes and discussions of
current readings applicable to merchandising principles.
