The purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of crime
in urban areas by integrating the disciplinary perspectives of sociology and
urban geography. The course examines the impact of urban spatial structure
and urban growth and decline on crime rates, crime patterns, and social
ecology more generally.
Class meeting: Two 75 minute classes each week (9:30-10:45A, TR, SY 006)
