S332 The Hispanic World II (3 credits)
P: S331 or S333
The continuation -or rather the 'prequel'-- to S331. The purpose of the
course is to improve student's ability to read Spanish literature, think
about it, and write coherent short papers about specific topics. We will
read texts from the Iberian peninsula moving back in time from contemporary
to medieval. These will be mostly short texts, but a medium-length work will
be read in full. The main genres will be studied: narrative fiction, poetry,
drama, and the essay.
There will be two exams and the students will present four short (2-3 page)
papers. Upon these the grades will be determined.
Credit given for only two of the following: S331, S332, S333.
