S428 Applied Spanish Linguistics (3 credits)

P: S311 or S310 or equivalent
This course provides an analysis of the Spanish language from a linguistic
perspective. S428 is organized around the following topics: phonology,
morphology, syntax and orthography. S428 is required for all candidates for
teaching certificates and for those students who are looking for a
sophisticated approach to Spanish grammar.
Evaluation will be based on two exams, homework, assignments, class
participation, one presentation, and a cumulative final exam. Graduate
students will write a short paper. Regular daily attendance and
participation are required. The course will be taught in Spanish.
