S601 is an introduction to the historical grammar of Spanish that
covers the most important examples of phonological and morphological
change from Latin to Old Spanish and  the modern language.  At the
present time it is taught as an independent one-semester course and
will not be followed by S602.
Prerequisite: Fulfillment of the Latin requirement (may be taken
concurrently).
