CLASS MEETING:
Two 50 minute periods per week
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course focuses on the classical solo women's dance of the Middle East.
Class involves warm-ups and stretches and progresses to short dance
combinations, choreographics and improvisational exercises, accompanied by
traditional and world music. It is a recreational activity that improves
flexibility, strength, conditioning, rhythm and coordination.
EQUIPMENT:
Finger cymbals are required.
GRADING:
Letter based
ATTENDANCE:
Students are allowed a maximum of three (3) absences. Upon a fourth
absence, a student has 3 options:
1) receive a grade of F;
2) officially withdraw from the class;
3) follow an appeal procedure with the instructor and/or the Elective
Program Coordinator.
