CLASS MEETING:
Three 50 minute lectures per week

sport (11th ed.).  Chicago:  Mosby Year Book.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
During the semester students study the history and scope of  teaching
physical education as well as the subdisciplines within kinesiology that
contribute to our professional knowledge base.  Students learn how to
identify and use research materials relevant to teaching physical education
as they work on professional writing skills.  Students also learn about
curriculum development,
philosophies of teaching, on the job tasks, employment opportunities, and
begin preparation of their professional portfolios.

GRADING:
The final grade is comprised of technology competency (P/F), three written
exams
(55%), autobiography paper (10%), teaching paper (10%), journal articles
(5%),
and class participation and assignments (20%).
